The other day, I wrote a letter to a friend of mine and replying to one of his anecdotes, I typed something like, "That was a really funny story." I then ran the grammar checker and got the message, "The word 'funny' is trite. Use sparingly." So I took the suggestion and changed the sentence to read, "That was a really sparingly story."

Computers really improve our communications skills, don't they?
