While several of the 55 whales beached off the coast of Cape Cod, Massachusetts have died, rescuers are working hard to save as many as they can. Officials have acknowledged only 54 whales washed ashore, apologizing to Senator Ted Kennedy, who was sunbathing at the time. (Patrick M. Rhody)
