Quote of the Day
Last year, Patricia Burgus won a $10.6-million (U.S.) settlement in a lawsuit against her psychiatrist and a hospital. Dr. Bennett Braun used "repressed memory therapy" to convince her that she had 300 personalities and was a cannibal; she was committed to hospital for two years. Eventually, her own common sense prevailed. She told The Associated Press: "I began to add a few things up and realized there was no way I could come from a little town in Iowa, be eating 2,000 people a year, and nobody said anything about it."
