MIR Space Station Update

After investigation by both the US and the Soviet Union's space agencies, a joint press-release noted that the agencies believe they have determined the cause of the accident which has placed the station and its resident personnel in jeopardy. In terse statements at a recent press conference, space agency spokespersons admitted Thursday, "We have concluded our investigation concerning this potentially tragic accident and have arrived at a conclusion. The problems were caused by the simple fact that objects in MIR are closer than they appear."
