The Service

On Sunday morning after a lifeless service, the pastor noticed little Alex was staring up at the large plaque that hung in the foyer of the church. It was covered with names and small American flags were mounted on either side of it.

Seven year old Alex had been staring at the plaque for some time so the pastor walked up, stood beside him, and said, "What are you looking at, Alex?"

"This thing on the wall." He replied. "What is it?"

"It is a memorial to all the young men and women who died in service." The pastor answered.

As they stood together staring at the plaque Alex inquired, "Pastor, which service did they die in morning or evening?"
