 Film Review - Virtuosity

OK, so you're a convict working as a guinea pig on experimental virtual reality computer software for a mad scientist to pass the time.

The software being written by a mad man is, of course, insane itself and decides to break out of the computer to kill a whole bunch of people. Sure, this happens all the time. Never mind we haven't figured out how to whip up human bodies from scratch faster than the kid at the local burger palace can take my order.

Now that this has all happened, you, the poor convict, have to clean up this mess and go kill the software! If only you could get a date with Sandra Bullock, your life would be complete!

Sorry, no doughnut. Virtuosity is exciting and fast paced, but that's because it's a bang-bang shoot-'em-up movie. It could have easily been a Western, but the gimmick doesn't work and gets in the way as the audience gets distracted into wondering if the theater has slipped LSD into the popcorn.
