Film Review - 28 Days
I was honestly surprised that I liked this film.
28 Days portrays one woman's coming to grips not only with her alcohol problems, but her problem with responsibility.
Sandra Bullock is the lead in this journey down Rehab Lane. This is probably the best work I've seen Bullock do.
In the beginning of the film Bullock paints a picture of a woman we can all not like. After ruining her sister's wedding, stealing the Limo, and then driving it into a house, she enters Rehab.
The second third of the film deals with her inability to conform in Rehab, which is a symptom of her inability to fess up to her substance abuse. She finally figures this out after doing herself an injury.
The final third is her rehabilitation and realization that she can not go back to her old life.
This is tame compared to what real Rehab is like, but it gets the point across. We can all be redeemed.
Some time when you're not in the mood for bubblegum, give this a look. I think you might be surprised too.
