Well, well, well ... here we are with another "odd" Star Trek movie. Odd being that it is the ninth film of the series. The significance is that the odd-numbered Treks have sucked more that the even-numbered films.

In all fairness, Insurrection has done well by Trek movie standards. The best I can say is that Star Trek was originally created to be a Western in outer space. Insurrection has many elements of the classic Western: good guys with principles against bad guys who are just plain old outlaws, lots of action, and a moral to the story. In this regard Insurrection scores higher than most Trek films in that it compares well with many of the best episodes of the Trek TV series (most of the films have been horrible compared to the TV episodes.)

He who should be phasered and tossed out of the nearest airlock is film editor Peter E. Berger. What was with the Worf sub-plot? Most of it must have been cut out because what was left didn't fit well at all. If you had to trim it out, you should have removed all of it instead of leaving us scratching our heads. For that matter, there was no reason given for why Worf was aboard the Enterprise.
