Film Review - Rocket Man
Rocket Man is one of those "dumb" movies that Disney puts out from time to time for the 7-year-old audience. It has lots of silly sight gags and fart jokes rolled into the story of the first landing on Mars.
The film stars Harland Williams in the title role. He's a geeky computer scientist who is the only person who can get the guidance software to work. (Sure, like we're going anywhere with software only one person can use? Who's running NASA, Microsoft?)
Along the training, our lovable idiot breaks all sorts of physical records, all previously held by the mission commander, a gruff bastard who is pissed about everything and anything.
The trip to Mars is stupid, the love interest is stupid, and the fart jokes just aren't that funny. If movie producers really want good fart jokes, they should spend a week at some computer company's tech support department.
Rocket Man, skip it, unless you're stuck looking at it or the bald spot on the head in front of you on an airplane.
