If you will remember, Robocop was a comic book come to life. Good guy Alex Murphy is killed in the line of duty by drug dealers secretly working for Omni Consumer Products (OCP), or something like that. Murphy is recreated by OCP into Robocop, a cyborg designed to clean up crime in Detroit.

Then came Robocop 2, a dark Irvin Kershner film about Murphy's successor cyborg, built from the brain of an insane criminal. Now Robocop 3 returns to the bubble gum genre of the original. OCP is still trying to rebuild Detroit. It is the villain, destroying people's homes with Nazi-style stormtrooper tactics.

For Robocop to do the right thing, he must resist some of his programming. Alex Murphy must beat his computer half.

There's a new bad guy in town. OCP has been bought by a Japanese firm so, of course, there's a Ninja cyborg for Robo to defeat.

This picture doesn't match the original. The bad guys aren't bad enough. The action is not as exciting. On the flip side, Robocop 3 has a lot to say about the role of corporations in our society.

This is a fun film, better than Robocop 2, but not as good as Robocop.
