 Film Review - Primary Colors

I've always enjoyed film that takes me to a new place, period or situation. In that last case, of situation, Primary Colors hits the mark. How many of us have been involved in a presidential campaign? How many of us will ever have access to the inner circle?

Primary Colors presents all of this with humorous overtones. Even though there have been many disclaimers that this is not about the 1992 Bill Clinton campaign, John Travolta's portrayal of Gov. Jack Stanton is Clinton, cut and dried.

Our perspective is voyeuristic through the eyes of a campaign worker. He, like we, are new to the situation. There is no better way to present this tale.

If there is any single element to dislike in Primary Colors it would be Emma Thompson's portrayal of the Hillary Clinton character. Thompson's American accent is weak and uneven.

Slight Suction!
