Film Review - Porklips Now

Ernie Fosselius has done it again with another perfect parody of a blockbuster film. Porklips Now is one in-joke after another, elbowing the ribs of Francis Ford Copolla's Apocalypse Now. Everything from the briefing to the journey to the encounter is poked at.

What's a shame is the lack of market for this type of film. The American Cinema for some reason cannot find a way to get an audience to see short films such as Porklips Now, or Hardware Wars, or even more serious subjects. The truth is we're not seeing everything that could be done with film (including these parodies). Porklips Now is a fine piece of film pointing out the absurdities of another fine film, and its creator.

The pacing of Porklips is a little loose. Hardware Wars was much tighter. But then, Apocalypse Now was itself a slow movie.

Slight Suction!
