Film Review - Life of Brian

No this isn't a sequel. But it is natural to compare Life of Brian to its predecessor, Monty Python and the Holy Grail. And if this were a sequel, it would be one of the most unusual films of all time. This movie is far better than Holy Grail, which in itself was a great film.

Narrow Minded Right Wing Christians had a big problem with this film. It takes place at the same time of the life of Christ; in fact, Brian is born on the same day and in the same manger as Jesus. The Right Wing took this as a slap at Christ. Python said take it for what it is.

Python is extraordinarily good at poking fun at established authority. It's almost easy to sympathize with the Narrow Minded Right Wing Christians who took offense; after all, during the Sermon on the Mound, they stood in the very back and kept misunderstanding what he said. "Blessed are the Cheese Makers?" After all, if you're going to say that, could you being saying that the Apostles might have misheard Jesus? That usually scares the hell out of the Narrow Minded Right Wing Christians. Python doesn't stop there. They take on Terrorists, Feminists, and the Police.

This is one of the best edited movies you will ever see. Python is a normal 100-minute movie that feels like 60. It's tight, it's fun, and it moves like a bat out of hell.

No Suction!
