 Film Review - Hudson Hawk

I must admit, this is one of my guilty pleasure movies. It's cheesy and ridiculous. It makes no sense much of the time. And those are its good points!

So why do I like this film? Hmmm. Whelp, we have Bruce Willis being a smartass for the entire movie. So it isn't acting. That's Willis being Willis. In fact, this entire film was his idea. So I think it's Willis being his fantasy self. Then there's Sandra Bernhard's over-the-top performance, being the complete evil bitch. Oh yeah, I already said it wasn't a big acting movie.

I think the appeal of Hawk is the sum of the parts. Absurdity even in danger. The quest of world domination. The adventure of the cat burglar. The spies around every corner. The parts by themselves don't amount to much, but together there's a chemistry that goes beyond the sum of the parts. This is a fun popcorn film.

Jammed Pipe!
