Film Review - Fugitive, The

I think Harrison Ford just might be the best working actor in American cinema. Why? Because when this man creates a new character on screen, he looks completely different.

Yeah, big deal. Think so? Look, when you watch a Bruce Willis movie, you always see Bruce Willis on the screen. He's the same in every movie; same with Arnold. But Harrison Ford ... he's always new. I like that.

The Fugitive is a remake from a 1960s TV series. Hollywood has been stuck in a rut making TV into movies lately. This one stands up above most.

The Plot:

Harrison Ford is a well-to-do surgeon doing major league heart research. He's a respected member of society who appears to have it all, until one night when his wife is murdered.

Ford is convicted of the murder and sentenced to life in prison. Now, we all know he's innocent, and that's really a plus in this movie. He has everything taken away from him: his wife by the murderer, and his life by society.

The story of how this man finds the real killer, and convinces the U.S. marshal, who is tracking him down, that he's innocent is a gem of a movie.

Tommy Lee Jones is the marshal. He too appears as you've never seen him before. The character is intent on one goal: getting his man. At one point, when Ford and Jones are face to face, Ford protests his innocence. Jones just says, "I don't care!" It says a lot, and these two build an interesting relationship of hunter and hunted.

Jammed Pipe!
