Film Review - Evolution

I believe that all movies have value. This is why I try to watch many different types of film, and not just the popular movies. Evolution has a value. It should be shown to first year film students as an example of how NOT to make a movie!

I'm guessing that Ivan Reitman needed to make some house payments and decided to do a re-make of Ghostbusters, but he completely missed it. First, this was supposed to be a comedy. Funny, the audience wasn't laughing. Someone forgot to hire a writer for punch up duty.

Second, David Duchovny can not do comedy. He has one gag in the whole film, and it's probably the only reason he was hired. If you took out Duchovny and put in Bill Murray, or even Burt Reynolds, this would have been a funny movie, because these guys wouldn't have let it suck so much. The only actor who was funny was Orlando Jones. If anyone is close the Bill Murray role in Ghostbusters, it's Jones. Hopefully, this crappy film won't hold him back.

What was great was the imagination that went into creating the creatures. This is where the time, effort and money went on the film. But quite frankly, this is not enough. I was bored.

Step away from the theatre ...
