Film Review - Austin Powers in Goldmember

This film should have been titled Austin Powers in 1001 Dick Jokes.

The opener was great. We're watching Steven Spielberg shoot the opening shot of an Austin Powers movie. Tom Cruise is Powers. Danny DeVito is Mini Me. Even Britney Spears appears as a Fem-Bot. It's very good. But then someone has to ruin this film by actually making an Austin Powers movie.

The story is the same plot from the first two Powers films. Doctor Evil plots to destroy the world unless he is paid an enormous amount of money. Doctor Evil's organization is populated by a bunch of idiots.

Meanwhile, Austin Powers is dealing with his father issues as he is Knighted but Daddy doesn't show up. Otherwise, you can find him trying to get twin Japanese girls into the sack.

Most of the film is re-hashed pee pee jokes from the seventh grade. Every once in a while a real joke would come by to wake you up. If your choices are watching this movie and gnawing your own foot off, watch this movie. You never know when that foot will come in handy. Otherwise, stay away from the movie theater.
