 Film Review - American Beauty

Excuse me? This piece of crap got what awards? Best Picture? Best picture of what? Seriously, this is a film about people bickering at each other in every scene. You can watch that on afternoon TV for free everyday. What do we want to go to the cinema to see this for?

I just don't get it. The film isn't that good. There's one fun scene where the main character blackmails the person laying him off, but other than that, this is a complete waste of film. 1999 was one of the worst years for film why did they insist that a film win? They could have opened the envelope and say, "I'm sorry, we didn't make anything worthy of this award". American Beauty is cinematic pollution for your brain. This is no redemption, the audience leaves with a false set of values. This movie says that to enjoy life, you have to drop out and do nothing.

Hmm, maybe Timothy Leary faked his own death so he could direct this film.

Sucks and Blows!
